Books I want to read

"It’s the village girl who will change the world." — from If You Have to Cry, Go Outside
I’m a really big believer that we all have this voice inside of us, and that voice is God talking to us, and we are all magical, and we all have something as specific to do as our fingerprint. And everybody should go out and do that. And I think between the ages of 15 and 32, don’t worry about getting married, don’t worry about settling down, don’t worry about having a baby. Give birth to yourself." — via VH1
"There are a bunch of different ways to look at the fashion industy. Is it shallow to work in fashion? Yes, it can be. But does fashion transform a woman who might feel like nothing and unimportant to glamorous and gorgeous? Yes, it does. Does it employ a huge sector of America? Yes, it does." — via Huffington Post.
"We are people who want to play dress-up all day—we don’t want to know about all the pain in the world." — via New York.
“If anyone really wanted to change the world, they’d bring in the fashion bitches.” —Kelly Cutrone in her book, If You Have To Cry, Go Outside.
"I’m more of an ancient feminist than a modern feminist. I believe in the goddesses. I like that whole warrior tribal thing. I’m happy. There aren’t that many strong women on TV. Even if you look at Sex and the City…. if you look at women on television… Sarah Jessica Parker’s character is obsessed with Mr. Big and Kim Cattrall is getting banged 20 times a day." — via The Awl.
"If you’re sensitive and somebody hurts your feelings, I don’t give a fuck."
